An interesting tale of a missing windlass controller and absent dinghy and outboard motor - great turning up to a vandalized boat
My motivation for this site was because of the unreasonable nature of the seller - good luck negotiating with them should you try and buy this boat.
It seems that upsetting people is not an isolated incident.
This boat used to have a nice AB dinghy complete with outboard motor.
As the story goes, he fell out with someone locally over a work/money type dispute.
His dinghy was borrowed/stolen/seized as collateral.
The Windlass controller was also ripped clean from the bow with only bare wires left behind.
Interestingly, the boat listing was represented as having a new windlass in 2015 and I was unlucky enough to make the drive all the way down there only to find the result of his tit-for-tat with someone else.
In making an offer, I asked that the windlass be functional before the survey, and his response.....

You might think that the owner wouldn't have had time to get the controller fixed?
He had time enough though to go through the boat - remove items that were previously represented to me as coming with the boat, and to clean up the engine bay of any sign of oil leaks.
After turning up to the boat with no windlass controller for survey, i was thinking we might have to just hot wire the loose connections to see if there was any action.
Found an old controller in the Nav table chair and managed to duct tape the connections to try and test the windlass out.
